Q: MBPro Mid 2015 GPU diode 0 high temperature

I recently a new MBPro 15" mid-2015 (16 gig of Ram with Iris Pro).

I use temperature Gauge 4.1 and sometimes get a message saying GPU Diode 0 got at 98°C from a brief moment. Is this normal?

MacBook Pro with Retina display, OS X El Capitan (10.11.2)

That application is quite old. It hasn't been updated in more than 2 years. It is entirely possible that it is not correctly reading information from your new Macbook Pro.

 

I use iStat menus (https://bjango.com/) and I don't see any sensor labelled "GPU Diode 0".
