    HI,

Yes but why do you want to turn off iTunes Match? When you subscribe to iTunes Match, your library is scanned to determine what can be matched or needs to be uploaded. When the scan is complete, your library will be updated automatically when you add new tracks or change metadata.

Thanks for your super fast reply. It's very appreciated. Now I can move on with my plans.

As for why I would want to disable auto-scan/update ... well, it has to do with setup issues as well as my own 'operational' procedures for any tasks I perform. I prefer to control (maybe it's OCD ) when things take place. I don't like auto recalc on Excel and I don't like constant immediate updates of anything that is in process and subject to a fair amount of change--not being 7 of 9 (though I wouldn't mind terribly having her figure), I don't need the immediate gratification that a smart phone offers by its more or less constant connection, via the towers/network, to the 'Hive'; and personally only use a smart phone without the SIM on WIFI. ( ) Reasonably periodic updates are plenty sufficient for me.

I want to turn off match temporarily while I import mp3 audiobooks. They import into the music section of iTunes. I like to move the files to the Audiobooks section of iTunes. I don't see a need to sync or start to sync the files to the cloud when I am just going to move them. I don't believe match works with audiobooks that are in the audiobooks section so I don't see a need to sync them to the cloud when I am done importing the book.
