Q: Accessing photo library via another application

I am putting together a photo book with a 3rd party software and am unable to access my photo library on mac book.  This seems to have become a problem since migrating from iPhotos to photos.  When I try to attach photos from this library it is greyed out and not accessible.  This would also seem to be the case if trying to attach a photo in gmail.  Any ideas anyone?

What software are you using?  Does is have a File ➙ Import option

and, if so, is there a Media browser option in the next window?  It would look something like this one in Preview:

    Preview002.jpg

If you can't access the Photos library this way with your software you'll have to export the photos you want to use to a folder on the Desktop and access them there with your software.

With Gmail you need to setup Mail as the client for your Gmail account

and then you can use the Share button to get the selected photos into a Gmail email:

You do not directly access the contents of the library as you are trying - use the media browser - scroll on down the source list to Media ==> photos ==> Photos and select your photos there
