Dec 19, 2015 11:04 AM in response to Diomandemby a brody,It really depends on how old the Office is. Office 2008, no. Office 2011 you have to upgrade to a specific free update as my tip explains:

There are free alternatives to Office as well
Alternatives to Microsoft Office
Documents you should be able to open with any version of office. It is just the version of Office that makes a difference on El Capitan.

Dec 19, 2015 11:24 AM in response to Diomandemby Barney-15E,★HelpfulI Haven't read the license agreement in a while, but I'm pretty sure there isn't a restriction on transferring it to a new computer.
You likely can only run it on one of the computers, mind you will need your license code. I've never transferred office from one Mac to another without needing the license code.
