Q: icloud: The maximum number of free accounts have been activated on this iPhone.

HI, I just baught a used (second hand) iphone 3gs recently. and now i have activated my apple id that i used in my previous iPhone 2g in this iPhone. it's working for appstore well, but when i try to use it for icloud it gives me the error that

"The maximum number of free accounts have been activated on this iPhone"

what i must do to sign in to icloud please help me. i have seen this problem is being talked about everywhere. but no one is willing to answer?

what is apple team afraid of telling this to the clients? i have paid money to buy it even if it's a used device.

iPhone 3GS, iOS 5.0.1

I have purchased a SH iPod and encountered this issue. But as you said, after logging in on a new iPhone, I was able to log in on my iPod.

The maximum number which any one device can create is three. You can't increase this, and Apple won't.

Don't waste your time watching it. This video simply states what had already been repeatedly said - you have to create a new account on another device.

Thanks for figuring this out! I got my wife's phone to work. We got a refurbished phone from a mobile carrier/ dealer and had the same 3 apple ID issue. Now it works great and we can use find my iPhone on her 5s.

As has been repeatedly stated in this thread, once a device has created three iCloud accounts you will get this message and the only way to proceed is to create a new account on another Mac or iOS device (not Windows) and then you will be able to sign into that account on the first device. There is no other was round this.

If you haven't got access to a Mac or an iOS device then perhaps you can get to an Apple Store and ask them to help you.

Hi My aunt brought a 4S from Apple then got passed to my dad my mum then me We tried to make a iCloud account and this error comes up we don't have another iOS phone or Mac What do I do?
