Q: Reinstall os 10.7 or upgrade without install
I just bought a macbook online its a late 2007 and was running lion but it requires a reinstall. I dont have the disks for it but i doo have the origanal 10.5 install disks.
I can get as far as the app store login befor is says its unavailable. This is my only mac and i cant go to a desktop. How should i do this?

Boot off the DVD you received with the computer. Open Disk Utility, select the hard drive and erase it. Format it as Mac OS X Extended (Journaled) with option GUID. Then install the OS on the drive. Reboot normally and purchase Snow Leopard via this link.
When you get the Snow Leopard DVD, boot off of it and install 10.6. Reboot normally when done and use the combo update to get the OS to version 10.6.8.
Use the link below to order Lion. When you get the e-mail with the redemption code, open the App Store and under Quick links at the top right, enter the redemption code and download Lion. When downloaded, install the OS.
