Q: Traktor problem with my new Macbook 12"

Hello

Macbook 12" - 1,3 GHz - 8Go Ram.

I am really disappointed. Before with my old Macbook air, i have never problem, but with this new macbook, it's very hard for me ...

I use this new Macbook with Traktor S8 and software, connected on adaptator Apple USB C to USB. The result is :

Bad song (cut, strange son)

Software after little time, stay blocked

etc ...

short, it is impossible to normally use the equipment and software .

At first I thought that the concern was related to hardware and software manufacturer ( Native Instrument ), but this is not the case since , with a less powerful Macbook Air base ( which has several years) , it works perfectly !!

I bought this new Macbook with confidence and having sold my old Macbook Air , I am very disappointed.

I am a customer for a very long time and I have more than 12 devices Apple now , but I 'm not sure to continue.

    Hello,

having exact the same problems with my 12" macbook 1.2 GHz. Yesterday i started a gig and after about 30-45 min the sound started crackling ... even if no effects or any input was given on my Traktor S2.

I then tried to lower the latency and sound worked normal. After 15-20 minutes it started crackling again. I did that "trick" with lowering the latency 4-5 times, then tracktor was almost not usably anmore (because of the high latency).

I did a new attempt and restarted my macbook, lifted it up (put something under it) for about 0,5 cm (from the desk). In addition i put a fan behind it wich blew fresh air under the macbook. Then i was able to perform for the next 4 hours with normal latency (1024) without any problems!

I think there is a problem when the macbook gehts to warm it throttles the CPU and then Traktor starts crackling ... I thought even when the macbook throttles the CPU should be performant enough to play music via traktor?

Was the Macbook Air running the same operating system as your current  Macbook? First I would try updating the software for it. Then maybe reinstalling it. Their site claims to have update for El Capitan.

    Hello,

i think i fixed my problem by

    - deactivating wifi / bluethooth while im DJing

    - setting the sample frequenzy to 48.000 KHz in the Traktor Audio Settings
