Dec 21, 2015 9:41 PM in response to Old Toadby toltman,I tried that, however image capture was only able to locate 306 pictures of the 1,000+ on my iPhone, the same as Photo on my macbook. So back to square one I guess. Could this have anything to do with my iCloud storage being full and not backing up any longer? I don't need to use iCloud to back up my photos because I take way too many pictures for iCloud to handle. Could turning off iCloud backup somehow help, as long as it won't delete any of my pictures. This seems like a very poorly setup system...Thanks for your help!

There is no iCloud backup feature available. All iCloud features, the iCloud Photo Library, iCloud Drive, are all "syncing" features for syncing photos among all devices which are logged in to the same ICloud account. It's not a backup system. Delete a file from either of them and the same file is deleted from all devices.
As a test, log into another user account on your Mac and see if Image Capture can see all of the photos there.
