DesktopsQuickTime Player is not designed to play OMF files. Open Media Framework files are not video or sound files, they can't be played back by video or sound player software.
OMF files are used by professional recording studios and video editing facilities to transfer projects created in one editing application, to be directly imported into a different editing application.
