Dec 22, 2015 9:10 AM in response to AC34by pinkstones,For starters, you need to uninstall Avast. There is no virus currently in the wild that can do any damage to OS X. Anti-virus programs, while well-meaning, are essentially useless. Avast is probably one of the worst to have installed, and make sure you uninstall it according to the developer's instructions. Dec 22, 2015 9:48 AM in response to thunderzzzby AC34,★HelpfulI used malware bytes, but it didn't find anything in its scan. However, it suggested looking in the Chrome extensions file and first, disabling the Yahoo extension to see if that helped, and then deleting it. I had only been playing in the Settings folder. That did the trick. Thanks for the help.
