It would help a lot to know more about your computer model (not just "iMac" which includes dozens of models). Do you really want to downgrade as far as Leopard?  Going back to Leopard will require you have the original installer discs for your computer.  Time Machine does not back up the operating system.

What exactly do you mean by "video processing time".  Are you doing video editing with the computer?  When you upgraded did you also upgrade the RAM in the computer?  That may speed things up a bit but frankly a Leopard generation computer will simply be slow if you are trying to do modern day tasks.

    Thank you for your reply,

My imac model is 21.5" -2010(Mid) model - that is what is shown up when i entered the serial No: W8*******DB7 in apple support window

A year back my OS got crashed and system was formatted and installed OS X- version 10.9.5

I started using it for video rendering using Adobe Premiere Pro software - it worked well in the beginning,

recently started showing up rendering time - at least 10 times to that in the beginning (ex: in the beginning 1 hr video would render in 4 hrs, now its 45 hrs)

i have a ram of 4 GB (2 GB+2 GB)  - if its due to low RAM, i hope this mac is upgradable till 16 GB Ram,

Can that help my machine run faster...?

Open Activity Monitor, Show:>All Processes, sort on CPU%, see if anything using too much CPU% when this happens, click on Memory tab, do you have many Pageouts?

Open Console in Applications>Utilities & see if there are any clues or repeating messages when this happens.

Click on the top line we want, Shift plus click on the bottom line we want, CMD+c to copy, then paste the text in a reply with CMD+v

A few dozen lines should be about right, hundreds or thousands won't likely be readable.

How much Free Space is on the Hard Drive?

Yes, it can hold 16 GB of RAM, but Disk Space is important also...

The mid-2010 Mac model is limited to the 10.6 release that came with it, and 10.7 or later.   10.6 installer discs can be requested from AppleCare if lost or missing.    If you haven't updated your firmware yet, the restore functionality for newer operating systems won't work.

Apple no longer has available the installers for 10.9 or 10.10.

So your best bet is to clone those operating systems to their own hard drive on their own partitions.

You can use Disk Utility to make as many partitions as you desire, but always clone backup before making a partition.

For more on which firmware you need:

Computers that can be upgraded to use OS X Internet Recovery - Apple Support

What should I do if I find a used machine without the original CDs?
