Q: Availability of replacement tips for Apple Pencil?

I'm just curious when one can buy replacement tips for the Apple Pencil?  I've lost 1 already (it became unscrewed and lost).  It would be a shame to have to buy another Apple Pencil simply to replace lost tips.  Thanks very much.

I don't think anyone has found any entry for that yet.

THere is a 'chat now' feature on that page. Perhaps you can contact Apple that way and see what info they can give you.

I meant to post this link and realized I couldn't "edit" my message and post that link (which is what led me here).

I'm going to start a chat session now.  If they give me anything worth posting, I'll update the thread.  Thanks for the fast replies!

Chatted with Apple Support as per the above page, and received the following information:

    • Very sorry if you lost the tips to the Apple Pencil at this time no announcement on selling those has been made.
    •      I can get you the number to our technical support team to see if they have a way to get you replacements.

Thanks for posting that. We'll have some idea what to tell folks since I'm sure there will be other questions once presents are opened Friday.

Glad to have found this thread, as I was getting frustrated trying to find ordering information for replacements. Just lost one today and went to the backup. Almost lost the tip last week before I noticed it had become nearly unscrewed. Doesn't seem to take much for them to loosen.

The tip on my pencil now has a sharp edge on it... not sure how that happened.  I went looking for replacements and ended up getting routed to an AppleCare rep.

Based on my description of the damaged tip, I was told that I should take the entire pencil to the apple store.  They would possibly replace the entire pencil(!) to provide me with a new tip.

How does this remotely make sense, to create a product with a consumable component that can not be replaced?

The tips can be replaced. I'm going by the description that says there's a spare in the box. However it seems that the device made it to market before the infrastructure was put into place for replacement parts. We could speculate why, but that's kinda against the rules here. So it just seems that the cart came before the horse and I;m sure there'll be replacement tips in the future.

You were likely told what you were told because the tip wearing out so fast could be a manufacturer's defect, which is covered under the warranty.

I have great news!  After spending about an hour on the phone with Apple support, I now have 2 Apple pencil tips coming my way!  So, the regarding replacement tips is very new to Apple.  It's not that they don't have them in stock, it's just that they don't really know how to order them.  It wasn't until I provided my Apple Pencil's serial number (which is located on the box), that they were able to locate the part #.  If I'm correct, I believe the part # is 92300818.  He read it very fast.  BUT YAY!  I hope this helps in your support interactions going forward!

Just got off the phone with APPLE... no tips?????? My first tip broke and there was a plastic ring stuck in the pencil, I got lucky and was able to back it out with the broken tip and use the spare tip. But now no spare??????? I am illustrating a book with a APRIL deadline! Don't drop your pencil!!

I want one that is stronger APPLE. It does also come unscrewed very easily. ***** because it does amazing things otherwise.

I remember when NINTENDO realized that the WII REMOTE needed a rubber cover to be safe they sent one to every owner, I need plenty of free or cheap new or better tips ASAP.... please. Otherwise the APPPLE PENCIL and IPAD PRO is amazing!

I have dropped my Apple Pencil several times, and its landed 'tip down' damaging the tip, and the spare.

I called Apple Support and they sold me spares (in Switzerland, these were 6 EUR each).

I had to quote the serial number of my Apple Pencil (on the original box, or your original receipt), and also can confirm - to best of my knowledge - that the 'part number' is 9230081818

    Gold luck!

I figured I would reply to my own topic with a final answer.  Apple finally released 4-pack replacement tips yesterday!  You can purchase them here:
