Dec 26, 2015 7:17 AM in response to sichyy90by BenB,You'll want to look into the TrackX or SliceX (or the bundle of all three: SliceX, TrackX, MotionX), from Coremelt. It will provide excellent tracking inside of FCPX. Or you can do it inside of Motion 5 with its build-in tracking engine. Not as robust as TrackX, but works fairly well for simple tracking.

Dec 26, 2015 2:45 PM in response to sichyy90by JBS-GUY,The easiest way to do this only using FCP would be to drag the draw mask over the face clip and then trace around the face. Then, use the transform tool to put it over the beginning of the video clip you want to use as the background. Make sure you click the rhombus with the + in between the two arrows.

After that use your keyboard arrow key to go to the next frame and move the face clip over so it is still hovering above where you want it to. (The rhombus should turn orange again indicating it saved its spot for that frame) For best results keep re-adjusting it frame by frame. If the background clip its going above isn't moving around too much, you can skip all the frames where it stays in the same place because the face clip will remember its last given placement. Hope this helped -

@Ben:
did you inadvertantly leak a new product from coremelt (I know, you're well connected... ),
or just a spelling mistake, meaning DriveX…?
