Q: Selecting a Mac for gaming on a Windows dedicated disk.

I would like to buy myself a new Mac, the most powerful that supports gaming on a Windows dedicated disk with a supped-up video card.  However, I see that late-2013 was the last time Boot Camp was supported on a Mac Pro.  Use Windows 10 on your Mac with Boot Camp - Apple Support

I have a nice sound system and nice dual monitors, so I really don't need an iMac.  My two laptops are working well -- MacBook Air 13" and MacBook Pro 17" -- so I really don't need another laptop.

What is the best newest Mac that will support a dedicated Windows disk, with a supped-up video card?

Common sense would suggest buying a Windows machine, not a Mac. Nevertheless, the most powerful desktop Mac would be the new Mac Pro, although the new iMacs are supposed to do pretty well. You can find benchmark comparisons at Bare Feats.

It looks like the best option will be to customize an older Mac Pro tower (e.g., 2009 to 2012) with the latest GPU -- e.g., GTX 980 Ti that has been flashed to work better with the Mac Pro when booting.  Nehalem 2.93 Xeon Quad Core should be sufficient for current games.

I myself have a mac pro 2010 / 5.1 with a gtx 980 ti from http://www.macvidcards.com/ . Under bootcamp (win 7 and win 10) i installed the video card driver from nvidia. Works perfect, full support for the video card. Even the new star wars battlefront only uses a fraction of the video card power, so there is a lot of reserve for future games.

But keep im mind ... a macbook or imac uses much less electric power.
