Q: Enhanced Dictation in Mavericks using command "Caps on" capitalizes phrase or sentence, except prepositions, but will not capitalize the first word no matter what it is, unless it's a proper name.

Enhanced Dictation in Mavericks: Using command "caps on" capitalizes the next phrase or sentence, except for prepositions, but will not capitalize the first word of the phrase or sentence no matter what it is, unless it's a proper name. For example, I am using dictation now and I will use the "caps on" command for the following: no Refunds Will Be Given. That's the problem--the first word, in this case, "no", should be capitalized, but it never is. I have recently started sometimes adding an extra word at the beginning of what I really want capitalized and then deleting the first word, but that's not a good workaround. For example, using "caps on" for the following: so No Refunds Will Be Given--you can see that I get what I want capitalized but I have to add an extra extraneous word--doesn't matter what it is. This shouldn't happen.

Not a proper comparison as I am on El Capitan 10.11.2 with enhanced dictation. When I state “caps on” and speak your chosen selection, it is typed accurately in sentence case (“No refunds will be given.”). I performed this five times, each in TextEdit, and Pages v5.6.1 without errors. Using microphone from Logitech C920 HD Pro Webcam at 2 foot distance.

That's strange, because according to an information page, I think "caps on" is supposed to implemented title case, which should capitalize letters for the principal words. Articles, conjunctions, and prepositions do not get capital letters unless they start the title. "All caps" is supposed to capitalize every letter of the next word, and "all caps on" is supposed to capitalize every letter of every word of the following phrase or sentence.

I have an interesting update--I inadvertently solved the problem. While trying to search again for the issue in the Chrome search bar, I said something like "Apple enhanced dictation title case caps on not capitalizing first word"  and thereafter whenever I said Whatever the Phrase May Be (I said "caps on" just before "Whatever"), it's been working perfectly. I wonder if just saying "Apple enhanced dictation title case caps on" actually corrected the problem--it seems to have. That's quite a discovery, I think.
