Q: Family Sharing Question
I currently have five iPhones in use on my Verizon plan. All of them use the same apple id even though each one is for a different family member. I always turn off iCloud when setting up my families devices since we all don't want to see each others info (contacts, photos, calendar, etc.).
Now that Family Sharing is available and I now have an iPhone, I tried to setup my iPhone as the Organizer. I then added my credit card and followed the instructions and sent out Invitations to my wife and children. Since we were all using the same Apple ID for our phones, as a TEST, I added a new Apple ID to my wife's iPhone iCloud (using her email address), then went to her email and accepted the invitation to Family Sharing. It worked and she was added. The problem that I have is, I still have here setup under iTunes using my main Apple ID, not her Apple ID. If I keep it that way, I can still purchase music from her phone using my credit card but if I change it the apple id for ITunes to her Apple ID which doesn't have a payment system setup for it, I cannot purchase any music or content. It tells me that I do not have any payment system setup for her Apple ID. I thought that by hooking her up with Family Sharing while using her Apple ID for iCloud and ITunes that she would be able to purchase content using my credit card info but that is not working.
I thought the point of Family Sharing was that all family members can have there own Apple ID's for iCloud/ITunes and when they join Family Sharing they will be allowed to purchase any content using my credit card?
Or do all the iPhones have to have my main Apple ID setup for their iTunes and their own Apple ID for iCloud???
I am confused. Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you,
Pete
