I see from your post that your Apple TV is having issues with maintaining a constant Wi-Fi connection to your network, thus causing the streaming items to stop playing. You've already done well with your troubleshooting, such as changing the Wi-Fi network's broadcast frequency, and restoring your Apple TV, however there are a few more things I suggest you go through. First, please make sure your network is configured as shown in the link below:
Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
Second, I suggest that you check for any sources of wireless interference:
Wi-Fi and Bluetooth: Potential sources of wireless interference
Cheers.

Dec 29, 2015 10:43 AM in response to alex_h1by GekkoInTraining,I'm effectively running into the same issue - however, I don't think it is related to my router at all. I was able to use my Apple TV (4th Gen) all day yesterday with no issues (in addition to Saturday and Sunday). Today, whenever I go to watch something it will initiate playback for about two seconds, and then it pauses it and won't restart. This happens on media purchased through iTunes, as well as apps such as Netflix, CNBC, and ESPN. I have changed nothing whatsoever with respect to my network set-up or any AppleTV settings. This happens under both a wired and wireless connection scenario.
