Q: Safari is compromised

My Safari is compromised.  Every time I open it I am connected to http://shop.warningshop.info and at that site I have no options except to connect with them or to turn off the computer.  Can anyone help? What should I do next?

iMac, OS X El Capitan (10.11.2)

Try force quitting Safari and then hold down the Shift key as you start it again. That should break the link to the Javascript.

Many, many, thanks.  Your suggestion worked!  I restarted three times and entered Safari directly and indirectly (through another app) and my problem has gone away!

Whoops!  I spoke too soon.  The pop-up ( or whatever it is, because i have pop-ups blocked in preferences) reappeared. There is  bright side, however.  The "thing" (I don't know what to call it) is not as bothersome as before in that I am now able to quit Safari via a menu selection and then restart it holding down the shift key.  I was not able to do that previously. I would still like to rid of the "thing" but I can live with version of it for the time being.  Thanks again.

One thing you should do (and personally, I think everyone should do and should be the default to start with) is to open Safari's preferences and change the top choice from "All windows from last session" to "A new window". That way, pages such as this cannot keep forcing themselves to open. All you have to do is force quit Safari and relaunch it without holding the shift key down and hope it works. This will work every time.
