Q: Mac Pro sometimes doesn't recognize 4k display
So my experience with the Late 2013 Mac Pro has been anything but pleasant. The first one I had just randomly stopped working and the Apple Store never figured out what happened so they replaced it.
My setup consists of a Mac Pro, two 4k Samsung U590 monitors and a cheap 4 port USB splitter. Periodically when I boot/wake my computer up one of my monitors won't start with the other. I try turning it on and turning it off, pulling it out and plugging it back in and nothing fixes it. Finally I tried just switching to a new Thunderbolt port and it starts working. If I swap it back or swap my other monitor to that port the monitor won't work. This has happened twice now with the top two ports. If I reboot my computer the port that stopped working might start working again but might stop working when I reboot/wakeup later.
This Mac Pro is less than 2 months old and I am PRAYING that it is some way a software issue because of all the issues I had with my last Mac Pro.
Do any of you have an idea of what might be causing this issue? Any help is really appreciated.
Mac Pro, OS X Yosemite (10.10.5)
