Dec 30, 2015 10:03 AM in response to BobTheFishermanby JPseattle,Hey Bob why do you say that? just wondering. I can get a new Logic board for $450 and get it installed for $150. Why spend 3k on a new computer?

Dec 30, 2015 10:10 AM in response to JPseattleby steve359,Apple will not service it this time, meaning you must do all work yourself. Any number of things could go wrong and damage the $450 logic board you would scrounge up.
There comes a point when hardware is no longer viable. You got more life out of this system than most will get out of even a modern-new HP notebook system.
If you want reliable but not $3k, try Apple refurbished store: http://www.apple.com/shop/browse/home/specialdeals/mac. You can add AppleCare and Apple scrubs systems for all issues before sending it out again.
