Q: How do you know the password to use when trying to join a network?

I have an iPhone 4s. Can someone please tell me how to join a network? I went to settings, my wi-Fi is on. I selected choose a network. But then it tells me to enter the password. But I do not know what password I am suppose to put in. I thought it was my personal password I use all the time but it would not accept it. What am I doing wrong? Thank you !

If it is a home network and you haven't changed the default password for it, it should be on your wireless router either on the back or the bottom.

If it is a work network or a company one you might need to ask your network administrator or the IT department to have them connect you or give you the password.
