Q: How do I edit photos in OSX El Capitan v. 10.11.2?

I recently had my computer reformatted and upgraded to OSX El Capitan.  Now, the iPhoto program is no longer the same as it was when I bought my computer.  There are no options to edit photos.  Do I now have to buy a program for editing photos?  That *****, if so.  I also lost the Pages app when I upgraded my system.

Photos has a really neat feature (as do all Mac programs) called help - instead of cursing at people trying to assist you simply click on  the work help at the right of the top menu bar and read the instructions

For example editing is trivial - double click on a photo to enlarge it and click the word edit - in the adjust pane there is an add button to add additional editing features and some edit features have a v to the right that opens up additional options for it

I wasn't cursing at anyone, just venting my frustration.  Thank you - your reply did help.  Is there a tutorial for this program somewhere?

As far as I know from Apple only supplies this and the overview and detailed help topics in the Help menu - there are third party tutorials if you search for them

for the most part it is intuitive after going through the overview and reading the help topics - specific questions can be ask here but it is best to be specific, polite and avoid editorials

Of course you are always going to be frustrated if you do not even bother to read the basics before cursing at others - you have to do your part first - your frustration is self imposed - and you are no longer using iPhoto but a totally different, new program named Photos
