Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
I understand that you're not receiving notifications for an app that you're using. Please ensure your notification settings are set to your liking by following the directions below.
Not getting notifications for a specific app
Push notifications require an active Wi-Fi or cellular connection. If you’re not getting notifications for a specific app, try these steps:
- Go to Settings > Notifications to verify that the app supports notifications. If notifications do not appear in the Notification Center, make sure that the Notification Center setting for the app is enabled.
- Make sure you’re signed in to your Apple ID.
- If you’ve recently installed an app or restored a backup, open the app to start getting notifications.

Notifications use Wi-Fi only when a cellular connection is unavailable. Firewalls and proxy servers may affect your ability to receive notifications. Get help using Apple Push Notifcation service (APNs).

Take care.

Dec 16, 2015 8:30 PM in response to TFD2186by TFD2186,Alex,
Thanks for the quick reply. Unfortunately, this problem is not that simple. The steps you referred to had already been checked and were ok. My iPhone 6+ took the iOS 9.2 update with no problems. I have not updated my iPod 6 Touch. This iPad 4 displayed numerous lock screen alerts (notifications) prior to ios 9.2! As many other people have posted, this iOS update has "broken" the phone on their iPhone, the camera on their iPhone, etc, etc. I train people on how to use the many features of the iPad, iPhone, and iPod so I'm not exactly ignorant of Apple products.
Am really interested if anyone else is experiencing similiar problems. Thanks to everyone for their input.

Dec 31, 2015 6:08 PM in response to Robertofrompcby TFD2186,Sorry you're having the same problem. My iPad 4 is now working properly! I re-booted it numerous times with no help then all of a sudden alerts started popping up on the lock screen along with the alert sound. From some comments I've seen on this forum, some of these so-called "experts" seem to want to blame the Apple product owner for their particular problem. Since I train people on how to use their iPhone. iPad, and iPod, I don't believe I'm exactly ignorant of how these products work. Before retiring, I worked in telecom switch translation. When we went into a telco switch to make software changes, to add features or make changes sometimes that would break something that had been working. I'm sure Apple try's very hard to prevent this sort of thing when writing an iOS update, but after all, they're humans, and we all make mistakes.
I hope you're "alerts" problem clears out as mine did.
