Q: I deleted Yosemite from my APP Store purchases.  Can I get it back?

I deleted Yosemite by accident from my APP Store purchases.  Can I get it to show again?  I have the original download and several copies so that is not a problem.  Do I need Yosemite to appear in my APP Store purchases?

Hide and unhide purchases in the Mac App Store - Apple Support

When I checked for replies to this one way that link only showed up as text.  I was about to ask how when I actually clicked on the link to this post and discovered this was a link.  Luckily I have one mini running Mountain Lion so I was able to do this.

Even though I have downloaded Yosemite I have not installed it yet.

That I know of, you can't actually delete an item from your App Store account - only hide it. So Yosemite is still there.

Regardless of whether or not you can see it, when you use one of your copies to install Yosemite and it asks for an App Store account ID and password for confirmation of ownership, it will still be able to verify that.

Hmmm.  At one point I had not used my Apple account for a while and forgot my password.  Apple won't let me choose one that's easy for me to remember so I've had to change it once or twice.  If I used a different password on the Yosemite purchase did that get updated when I changed my password?  I guess one way to find out is try to install it.

The installer itself doesn't remember, or know the ID or password. When it asks, you just need to supply one that has Yosemite as one of the purchased items in it.

It also doesn't always ask. If you boot to Recovery Mode and choose to reinstall the OS, it will ask if what's currently on the drive is a newer major OS X release than what the Mac shipped with. If you launch the full installer from a separate partition or use a bootable USB installer you've made from the full download of Yosemite, it never asks. Not quite sure how Internet Recovery Mode responds since I have yet to purchase a new enough Mac that even has that firmware ability.
