    It's possible that either the Mac or the keyboard Bluetooth support has failed, or that there's interference blocking the signal.   Swap for a different Bluetooth keyboard, and see if that works with the Mac.   See if the problematic Bluetooth keyboard can bind with and can work correctly another system.  If the keyboard does work with another system, then try removing and re-adding the keyboard via Bluetooth preferences, and see if the system in the problematic combination can be taught to recognize it again.

     

    Boot into Safe Mode, and see if the keyboard works there — on the off chance some software installed onto the box is blocking keyboard access.  You'll know pretty quickly here, as you will or won't be able to trigger Safe Mode at boot.


    I'd also get and test with a wired keyboard, test with that in normal operations and in Safe Mode, and use that to try a PRAM and an SMC reset.
