Q: IPhone 6 storage filling up with music and videos I'm not downloading

The local storage on my iPhone 6 (iOS 9.2) is getting full. I deleted several gigabytes of photos, videos and other content and unused apps. The Apple Videos app keeps filling up with several gigabytes of videos that I am not downloading. I changed my Apple ID password and turned off iTunes syncing with devices from my laptop. I never watch videos on my phone and would prefer to just delete the app, but that is not an option when I hold down the app icon. The same is true for the Music app. There is 241 MB of music in the app that I never downloaded.

How can I stop these videos and music from downloading and using up my local storage?

    Hello there, avonfluegge.

It sounds like you are seeing content purchased elsewhere from iTunes being automatically downloaded to your iPhone 6. If that is the case, the following Knowledge Article provides the location for where that setting can be changed:

    Turn on Automatic Downloads

On your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

    1. Tap Settings > iTunes & App Store.
    2. If you're not already, sign in with your Apple ID.
    3. Turn on the content that you want to automatically download.

You can turn Automatic Downloads on or off over your cellular network on an iPhone or iPad Wi-Fi + Cellular. Go to Settings > iTunes & App Store and turn Use Cellular Data on or off. Cellular Data downloads are limited to a file size of 100 MB or smaller.

Once you've turned off that feature, then feel free to delete any unwanted content using the information found here:

Delete music, movies, apps, and other content from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

    Kind Regards.

Thanks, this was helpful, but even after I turned off all downloads and deleted the content on my iPhone and iPad, the same content kept reappearing. I went into iTunes on my laptop and deleted the content there, then deleted again from my mobile devices. Since then, it has not reappeared. The key was deleting it from the laptop which must serve as the source.
