Q: MacBook Pro mid2011 OS10.9.5 not finding network
Hi, I can't find a similar thread to answer.
I have a mid-2011 MacBook Pro on OS 10.9.5. I took it away for a few days and didn't use it on another network, when I got home it would not join my Sky Hub wifi. It is showing the network and joining it for a few seconds then saying searching for network, then wifi on, and then searching again every couple of seconds, saying it has a self assigned IP. I have reset the router (white Sky Hub), deleted the network and rejoined on the MacBook Pro, called sky and done all the sky router diagnostics and conclude it is an issue on the MBP. I have iMac, iPad and iPhone all working on the network. I tried ethernet from the MBP to the router and that didn't work, I think it was an IP issue but tried this after speaking to Sky do may be user fault in the set up.
Any thoughts advice gratefully welcomed!

Thank you my ginger and alex_h1. I had tried most of your suggestions and called Apple Care. The MBP was finding the wifi but not Internet, however did find internet in recovery mode. I reinstalled (didn't wipe the HD first) the OS X, didn't work so opened in Safe Mode and could access internet. The problem was solved deleting Library temp files from a couple of folders in Library and the HD Library.
