Q: Why is itunes store black in windows 10

Why is my iTunes Store Screen Black?

I am able to use iTunes from all devices except when I go to the iTunes Store on my Windows PC, I can see the new albums banner but everything is black below that.  Even when I view playlists, the background is black but at least I can see the albums there but at the store, I can not.

Dell XPS27, Windows 10

    Hey umbwebwe1958,

If I understand correctly, when in Windows you are not able to access the iTunes Store because it is blank. I would recommend you read this article, it may be able to help troubleshoot the issue.

If you can’t connect to the iTunes Store - Apple Support

    Windows

If you haven't been able to connect to the iTunes Store for more than a day, find out which ports and servers need to be allowed for iTunes Store access, then try the steps below.

If there's still an issue after you try the steps above, contact your Internet service provider and confirm that these ports and servers are turned on for your network.

The hosts file might also be the cause of the issue. Learn how to reset the hosts file back to default and how to use a FixIt to have Windows reset the hosts defaults for you. Some workplaces might put internal resources in the hosts file that block the iTunes Store. The FixIt doesn't work for Windows 8.

To create a copy of your hosts file and replace it with an empty hosts file, follow the steps below:

    1. Navigate to the hosts file at C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS\ETC.
    2. Select the hosts file. There should be a duplicate of the hosts file named "Copy of hosts" (Windows XP) or "hosts-copy" (Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8).
    3. Drag the original hosts file to your desktop.
    4. Right-click the duplicate file and choose Open. If you're prompted to choose the program you want to use to open the file, double-click Notepad.
    5. When Notepad opens, choose Edit > Select All.
    6. Choose Edit > Delete.
    7. Choose File > Save.
    8. Close Notepad.
    9. Right-click the duplicate file, and choose Rename from the pop-up menu.
    10. Type hosts, and then press Enter.
    11. Restart your computer.
    12. Try to connect to the iTunes Store.

If you still can't connect to the iTunes Store, your security software or firewall might be blocking the ability of iTunes to communicate with the Internet. Learn how to resolve security software issues.

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    Have a good one.

Like umbwebwe1958 my screen is BLACK, not BLANK, below the albums in the iTunes store and it does not appear to be a connectivity issue but a display issue that has cropped up only recently with Windows 10.

This, as far as I can tell, is not a networking problem. I had the exact same issue, although I could see a few blue partial play icons. I could also, for about a second, see the actual content before it turned black. This only happened occasionally, and my bet is on that my slow internet connection just makes the problem take a short while to materialize.

However, to the good news; The problem goes away when I reduce the size of the iTunes window to a certain level. Everything then renders correctly. If I increase the window size again, it returns to black. A little bit of experimentation suggests that this is related to the dynamic layout of the window content, as when the window is large enough to show the top store banner, the rest of the content goes black. When the window is too small for the top bar, it renders correctly.

OK, so after fiddling a bit more, it may not be the banner after all, that was just a coincidence related to the search results page I was looking at. However, reducing the window size definitely fixes the problem for me.
