Jan 3, 2016 6:20 AM in response to AJ397by ian_in_stuttgart,Thank you for the quick reply.
It makes sense, so I tried that, but it didn't work.
I tried updating iTunes, but it says that it is the newest version.
Unfortunately I also can't see any of the iPad photos in iTunes.

Jan 3, 2016 6:35 PM in response to AJ397by ian_in_stuttgart,Thank you again.
Unfortunately I have never been able see any photos from my iPad on iTunes.
I have a somewhat "older" PC still try to run on XP and IOS 7 on the iPad. Not the best combination :-(
Unfortunately things have gotten dramatically worse for my iPad.
I let iTunes try to update the SW on the iPad. An unknown error occured
and since then all I can see is a black screen with the iPad connector trying to reach an iTunes symbol.
Nothing seems to help.
Even the recovery that would wipe out everything restore the factory settings dies with an error.... :-(
What do I do now?

The Apple store can also restore the iPad for you.
