2. Nobody on these boards can tell you this. If you choose to do so, check your applications for compatibility and back up your data first.

Jan 4, 2016 7:50 AM in response to Pankie61by macjack,It's preferable to back up your entire system to another disk. Either a clone by using a cloning utility like SuperDuper, or with Time Machine. That's not to say upgrading is particularly risky, just to say anything can happen at any time.
You meet the system specs for El Capitan so you can upgrade and have the latest Safari browser.
