Q: itunes freezes up when I try to register my apple tv

I get a "Welcome to Your New Apple TV" message in iTunes, see image bellow.  When I put my ID and Password, iTunes locks up and I have to go to "Task Manager" to close it.  out of  my 9 purchased movies I have only been able to sync 1.  I need to sync these movies so I can bring my Apple TV to my grand kids  in WY that don't have web.  All but 2 of them are for them!  Please tell me how I can get these movies on My Apple TV.  By the way, I can sync all of my other moves, not for kids!, just fine.  Thank You
