Q: changing text color crashes fcp

Graphics card is key, but it's probably alright. Start with trashing prefs.

Can't reproduce the problem with what you've told me, of course there are so many zillions of variations in 3D text that reproing can be very difficult.

Which font are you using? If you've changed the font from the default, it could be a validation/corruption problem.

If you've changed the font, use Font Book to validate the font. If it doesn't validate, don't use it (you should disable it or remove it.) Some fonts that don't validate can be repaired. Here's a guide for doing so:

it happens to me to exactly as you describe, when trying to change the colour of a title font it crashes once I'm on top of black.

Exactly same problem here in all fonts. Is there any fix??
