Try a wired connection.
For what it is worth, there have been reports you can connect an lighting to a usb-camera-connection kit to a usb hub to a usb-to- ethernet connector to get an internet connection. see:
Re: How do I connect my iPad to the internet when only a wired connection is available? Thanks

To Enable QoS:
Go to your router settings,
Advanced -> Setup -> QoS -> Enable WMM
Enable both the 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz
- Change what band your router uses. Many have found 2.4Ghz works best.
