Nov 15, 2015 12:20 PM in response to EDL2by mosinter,★HelpfulI had the exact same problem. Here's a simple trick that finally worked for me. Go into settings > Touch ID and Passcode and turn Passcode off. Exit and open wallet. Go to add card and it will prompt you to turn Passcode back on. Do it through the prompts. When you go back you will now be able to add a card. Hope it works!

Nov 15, 2015 2:05 PM in response to mosinterby Susan E Moody,TThanks for your help; but this didn't work for me either. I guess I just don't get to use ApplePay. I originally had it; but when I was sent updated VISA cards, I was not able to add them.

Dec 5, 2015 9:13 AM in response to EDL2by edward674,I couldn't get the credit card that I had on my iPhone 6 added to my new iPhone 6s from a restore in support of Apple Pay. Here is what you need to do in order to fix this (I just came from a genius bar appointment, and this worked)--
1) Go into Settings, "Touch ID & Passcode"
2) You need to temporarily disable your passcode ("Turn Passcode Off"), which you may not be able to do if you have an email account on your iPhone that requires passcode authentication (solution: temporarily delete said email account, but make sure to take a screen shot of the email account settings, or otherwise write them down).
3) After disabling your passcode, you need to disable/delete your fingerprint
4) For good measure, reboot your phone
5) Now, reactivate the passcode (can be same one you had before), and add a fingerprint
6) Go back into settings and try the process of adding a credit card again -- it should work this time;
7) Add back that email account if you had to delete it in the first place.

Dec 5, 2015 10:04 AM in response to edward674by Susan E Moody,TThis did not work for me. I have contacted my bank and Apple. Both have given up on helping me. I am not able to get to an Apple Store. I am so discouraged with this that I'm about ready to give up and change to another brand altogether! I have been a loyal Apple purchaser since I started with the Mac 512K.

Jan 5, 2016 8:32 PM in response to edward674by Susan E Moody,I have followed all suggestions given to set up Apple Pay. Nothing has worked. I even called Apple Support and followed a Supervisor's suggestions including resetting my iPhone 6 Plus. That did not work either.. Before I upgraded to iOS 9 (now using 9.2) and received a new credit card with chip, I used Apple Pay successfully. Really discouraged at this time because I was quite pleased with it.

Jan 18, 2016 6:56 AM in response to Susan E Moodyby jrmart08,I'm currently having this same problem.
I set up apple pay successfully in september, and have used it. However I recently purchased an apple watch and tried to move my cards to it, and received a "Could not add card" error.
I tried to unpair and re-pair the watch, as well as restore the phone, delete and re-add the cards, etc.
At this point, my wallet doesn't even let me take pictures of the cards to be able to send them to my bank, it just outright tells me that I can't do it.

Jan 18, 2016 8:51 AM in response to jrmart08by Susan E Moody,I Finally was able to add Apple Pay to my iPhone with the help of an Apple Tech Supervisor. I had to do a complete restore through iTunes. There is one difficulty now. Adding my credit card now required that I had to have it verified by my bank--a step that required me to answe a question posed about a transaction appearing on my latest bank statement, which statement I couldn't locate Immediately. When that was cleared up I was able to use Apple
Pay. What I didn't realize is that when I turned off my passcode (am disabled and do not go out much so didn't want to enter it each time I use my iPhone) I would immediately lose ApplePay again and have to repeat the whole process including verification with the bank again. So as much as I liked using Apple Pay, I can't see having to go through the enhanced installation process each time I go out of the house.
