Q: Whats the best Web Browser to use withEL Capitan?

It's not as bad as you think, though.  It's great that Chrome is working to make it even better but as far as memory used, it's little different from both of the other browsers and, in some ways, can be considered light-years ahead.

When I check all tabs of the Activity Monitor, Chrome comes out pretty clean in all areas.  They're just perfectionists.  Nice to know.

Safari is not good with some third party sites such as SkyGo. Movies stop in the middle and sometimes the system reboots for no reason. This may be because Safari is intolerant of Adobe add ons, but it renders SkyGo unwatchable. I was using Firefox and that worked well, but El Capitan will not run Firefox. Safari is a flawed browser and that is mainly due to the policy of Apple. Like all providers they want to control your world.

Firefox works fine for me on El Capitan...I like Chrome better, though.

Chrome requires too many "helper" applications in order to run, and it hoovers up RAM like a broken vacuum cleaner.  I never advise people use it if they don't want to use Safari for whatever reason.  I always recommend Firefox. 

Actually I'm finding safari is very adaptable, very stable and very secure. I use firefox and chrome but the more I use safari the less I use the other two. Chrome is possible the most poorly developed browser I have ever used. It is a bloated RAM intensive browser that has been traced back to problems with OS X.

Also Skygo is not compatible with OS 10.7 and later with anything larger than 1GB and has not been resolved by Skygo at this time so I would think the ball is in their court to rectify this if they wanted.

sorry to necro-respond but if you didn't see between now and last October IE was available for the Mac years ago, it was not a bad browser but it fizzled out of use and Apple began to push Safari.

You have been lucky then, because it crashed on my machine when I installed El Capitan and it even states on the FireFox download site "Does not work with 10.4 and above".

I greatly prefer Firefox to Safari. Safari is somewhat improved, and a couple of versions ago, finally acquired a feature that matters greatly to me, which is the ability to show bookmarks in a sidebar. However, Safari's implementation is ridiculous: the bookmarks in the list are widely spaced, and shown in light type on a grey background.

I'll take a slightly different view.

Safaris is very good, and unless you have a reason stick with it.

however, my choice is Firefox.  I l;ike that it is cross-platform and works the same in Windows and MACOS.  I like its tab interface better.

I prefer its GUI.

But truthfully, they are very, very close.

I would not advise Chrome on a Mac. It tends to be very memory and resource intensive.

Ok so my link was for the English GB version if you click the dropdown menu you should be able to choose which language version for you.

No, honestly, English GB is my language and it doesn't run. Are you sure you have El Capitan?

My sidebar is black text on a light background. You can also view bookmarks by single clickin in the white of the search/address field to get a graphical view of bookmarks.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.
