Q: iphone 6 gps and wifi problems 9.2

My iphone 6 won't connect to wifi unless it's within 5 feet of the router and the GPS can't find my accurate location.  This has been happening since Apple updated the software around the release of the 6s.

none of the subsequent releases fixed the issue, nor did any of the troubleshooting discussed in online forums, suggested by apple techs, or performed by apple techs at the store.

My phone is a couple months past it's warranty (how convenient for apple) and they would not replace it without me paying 280 bucks to do so.

I am a couple months from my full upgrade with Verizon, but the lack of GPS and wifi not connecting has caused a great deal of frustration and Data usage, which has been costing money because it won't connect to wifi when every other device in my apartment does.

This is one of the worst customer experiences I have ever had with apple.  I am on the Verizon edge plan, which allows me to upgrade when I want if I don't care about keeping my phone or getting money to trade it in.  I am two months from owning the phone outright, but I am probably going to switch to a Samsung as best buy has a $150 gift card promotion to switch to Samsung and trade in my iPhone.  I have been an Apple advocate for a long time, but the lack of resolution to this clearly widespread problem is not a good look for a company that has built themselves on convenience and simplicity.

After two months of headaches, I just don't feel like it's worth it to wait until March and I shouldn't have to because of this.

Do you have a question or did you merely wish to rant?

My question would be, has anyone else experienced this with any level of resolution from Apple? Has anyone heard of Apple doing anything to resolve these issues other than to pretend like they don't exist?

How have updates since come out, but done nothing to address this problem that seems to be affecting a very large amount of people?

I do not have the problem and I am unaware of any system-related issue that would cause such a problem.

I guess It might be an iOS bug.

I would recommend you to back up your files and restore your iPhone using iTunes.

If this method hasn't cleaned up the bugs, you should go to the service for a hardware check.

I did the backup and restore as well as restore to factory defaults.  I went to the apple store for a hardware check and they said it was the software and restored it to factory details.  I walked out of the store and pulled up google maps, apple maps and waze and had the same problems.  Got home and tried connecting to wifi and still would only connect if I was virtually in the closet with the router.

you could go again to the Apple Store and tell them you have the same matter and nothings has been fixed.

I have a friend who bought an iPhone 6S and went to Apple Store. All these just to fix the battery life of the iPhone and to check whether everything is alright.

I guess you should go to Apple Store and try again some checks!

I did go to the apple store.  They restored my phone and told me it was fixed.  It wasn't.  that was 90 more minutes of my life I won't get back.  I finally after a lot of mulling over made the decision to switch to Samsung.  I couldn't be happier I made the move and just wish I would have done it sooner.  Apple didn't own the problem in any way they just kept telling me I was wrong.  There are countless people experiencing the same issues and I would advise them all to do what I did.  Apple doesn't care about your phone not working they just want you to buy a new one.

i started having the exact same problems with my iPhone 6 as well around that same time. my wifi connection constantly loses signal and my GPS no longer works unless i'm connected to wifi. i can no longer use turn by turn directions on Maps or google maps and my Waze app just says "no GPS. Showing approximate Location". restoring the iPhone to factory settings and resetting network setting doesn't fix the problem either.

Every electronics company has a one year warranty (including the Samsung you just bought).

Hope you don't have any issues because you'll have to mail it out, seeing as though there are no Samsung stores to go to for service...

Or just take it to best buy where i got it (honestly though, I would rather just mail it out then deal with incompetent people).  I went to the apple store for the issue.  They were absolutely not helpful and that was after waiting for an hour when i had an appointment scheduled for the time i arrived.  They told me they fixed it, wiped my phone completely back to default, left and had the same problems immediately.  I recognize the warranty is up after a year and part of the blame goes to me, but the fact that there are this many people experiencing the same issue and it has been months and nothing has been fixed has made me lose faith in apple as far as them supporting their own old hardware.  I had similar issues back when iPhone 5s came out with my iPhone 5.  That's why I decided not to purchase another apple phone after this issue.  I've found the s6 edge+ to be superior in pretty much every way to boot, so unless a similar issue arises, I think I made the right call.

I'm having this same issue now as well. Tried hard resetting and also a factory reset, but to no avail. This is extremely frustrating. I'm in the same situation as you and don't want to have to buy an iphone 6S at this point of the year.
