The Time Capsule is not a media server, so while you might be able to do what you want.....sort of....it is complicated.

In general, you will have to have iTunes running on a computer somewhere on your network....and....iTunes must be able to access the files on the Time Capsule. That probably means moving the iTunes Media Folder over to the Time Capsule.   Tips on that here:   Locate and organize your iTunes media files - Apple Support

Performance wise, things will have a much better chance of working well if you can hard wire the Time Capsule to the Apple TV, since wireless will probably not work very well at all for a task like this.

Personally, I would never do this, so I cannot tell you how well.......or, even if......this will work. If you decide to give it a try, please let us know how things are working for you.

Hopefully, some other users who might have tried this will post here as well with their experiences.

Thanks Bob, this is all new to me. I can stream iTunes fine but as my Mac's hard drive is getting full I wondered if I could move my video files across to a TC - looks like not! Chris.

It would be tons better to move the iTunes Media Folder over to a drive that is connected directly to your Mac......a USB or FireWire drive, for example.

Access to the files will be much faster this way.....and Time Machine can back up both your Mac and the attached hard drive to the Time Capsule.

The bottom line here is that you would not want to place a "working" library on the Time Capsule......since it was designed to store your backups.
