Q: Failed repartitioning after using Boot Camp to uninstall Windows

Hey there,

I'm running OS X Yosemite 10.10.5 on my MBP Retina 15".

I had Windows 10 installed on my device and I decided to uninstall it through the Boot Camp Assistant, but suddenly got an error that the repartitioning couldn't be done and the process failed. Then I tried doing so again and this time nothing happened and the bar was stuck, so I decided to close and abort the process.

After a while I noticed that the Partition is not showing up on finder but the main part (Macintosh HD) was not the exact size of the Disk, meaning that the Windows partition still exists.

Now please help me fix this and delete that Windows partition so I can have a single partition and more free space.

Note that I'm kinda dummy . (So I need a complete answer)

Thank you.

MacBook Pro with Retina display, OS X Yosemite (10.10.5)

Can you use Missing part of my storage on my hard drive, bootcamp install failed. as reference and post the output of the Terminal commands as requested? We can determine the course of action, based on the output.

Since you have FileVault2 (Encryption) and a CoreStorage volumes, my recommendation is for you to use the less-labour-but-more-time method...

    1. Backup OSX using Time Machine - Use Time Machine to back up or restore your Mac - Apple Support . Please see Backup disks you can use with Time Machine - Apple Support for types of disks that can be used with TM.

    2. Use Internet Recovery (Command+Opt+R) - OS X: About OS X Recovery - Apple Support. Erase your whole internal disk.

    3. Restore the system from the backup in step 1 - Use Time Machine to back up or restore your Mac - Apple Support

    Thanks.

I did a backup of my disk using Time Machine but I faced a problem. I can't download and install the whole OS using Internet Recovery as I have limited internet traffic.

Now I think there is one more solution. I'm gonna install El Capitan in the coming days. Is it possible to use the backup from Yosemite and restore it to El Capitan?
