Q: The Finder can't complete the operation...(error -36)
I have two external drives connected to a laptop that I access over the network. It has been giving me the following error any time I try to copy files to the external drives over the network.
"The Finder can't complete the operation because some data in 'file_name.tif' can't be read or written. (Error code -36)"
I've tried deleting the .DS_Store files using Terminal, but I can't tell if they have actually been deleted. The error still persists, and I'd like to know how to get rid of it.
The external drives are connected to a MBP running Yosemite. Both drives are WD MyBooks, one of which is brand new. I connect to the MBP over our internal network using my MacPro, but it is also happening from other machines (MBP's).
Mac Pro, OS X El Capitan (10.11.2), null
