Jan 9, 2016 1:13 AM in response to loisrr2002by chroot,Incoming mail and outgoing mail uses two different mail servers. Use the mail connection doctor to check if the Mail app is able to connect to the outgoing mail server.

Make sure you have the correct SMTP settings.
You can use the mail settings look up page to check which settings that your e-mail service provider has sent to Apple.

If your e-mail service provider has not provided Apple with the correct settings or have recently changed their settings, you will need to contact them.
