Q: Stand Goal seems to be broken

I have had my Apple watch now for 4 days.  On day one the Stand goal seemed to work ok but I was using a "sleep" app and kept the watch on all night and it kept waking me up every hour.  Next day after a charge it didn't prompt me anymore.  In fact it has stopped prompting all together.  I have checked that it is still set to prompt me and it is but nothing is happening.  however it is displaying gained and missed goals...

Can anyone please advise me what to do?

    Hi Clare

    It may help to restart both your iPhone and your watch. Turn both devices off together first, then restart your iPhone before restarting your watch:

    - To turn your watch off: press and hold the side button until you see the Power Off slider; drag it to turn off;

    - To turn it on: press and hold the side button until you see the Apple logo.

    Hi Jonathan,

    Thanks for the quick reply, I've been getting more than a little frustrating with the watch since getting it and this was fast becoming the proverbial straw!  Not sure I like Apple's counter intuitive approach to the watch!  First Apple product that days later I'm still struggling with.

    Well, I've restarted as recommended but will need to wait just under an hour to see if it decides to prompt me!

    Hi Clare

    You're welcome!

    Stand reminders work on an hourly basis - ie if you have not yet achieved the goal within any given any hour, you will be reminded at xx.50 (ie 10 minutes to the hour). You will then have those remaining 10 minutes within which to stand and move around for at least one continuous minute.

    For the purpose of achieving this, it helps to let your arm swing naturally as you walk (the watch relies on data from the built-in accelerometer).

    Taken until now because I was obviously more active than I realised but I can confirm this has worked, thanks loads

    I'm now wondering if I just spend more time on my feet than i realised!

    P.s I accidentally clicked the wrong post on "this solved" so sorry Jonathan.  Do you know how I can rectify that?
