Q: How do I create/manage my children's Apple ID accounts if I don't own a recent Mac or iOS device?

I need to create and manage Apple IDs for my family. They just received a couple of iOS devices (iPod, iPhone) as gifts.

However I do not have a Mac or iOS device that I can use to manage these accounts. I have tried to access the iCloud setup from my Windows installation, only to find it's just not there. Similarly, I was unable to find the option at the iCloud.com website.

Is there any option to do this apart from buying a recent iOS device?

iPad, iOS 4.3.3

Apple doesn’t routinely monitor the discussions. These are mostly user to user discussions.

Send Apple feedback. They won't answer, but at least will know there is a problem. If enough people send feedback, it may get the problem solved sooner.

Or you can use your Apple ID to register with this site and go the Apple BugReporter. Supposedly you will get an answer if you submit feedback.

Settings > iTunes & App Store ( left column ) > Password Settings ( upper right column ) > Free Downloads - Require Password Toggle Off
