Q: Mac mini 2011 cannot set proper resolution for LG ultra wide 29 monitor.

I recently got a new LG 29 inch monitor for my mac mini 2011. However, I tried everything but the highest resolution I could get is stilled 1920x1080. Is there a way to achieve 2560x1080?

I have tried what others have suggested, a mini-display port to HDMI. However, it does not work for me.

Any suggestion will be helpful.

I tried both 1 and 2 however the problem seems to be that (I've spoken to the Apple support) the MacBook Air's maximum resolution doesn't reach 2560 x 1600 in which case my case has no salvation.

BBuy the GoFranco adaptor from amazon.  It's about 20 bucks.  It made the exact same lg monitor work for me in full widescreen resolution on my 2011 iMac.  Make sure you get the active one, as it needs to be an active adaptor for it to work.  It worked great for me.  Minidisplayport to hdmi for the ultrawide screen.  GoFranco on Amazon.com.

    enjoy!

You wouldn't happen to have a link/product name or anything like that, would you? That would help big time...
