In tests, Apple achieved 18 hours of battery life based on an overnight charge followed by: 90 time checks, 90 notifications, 45 minutes of app use and a 30-minute workout with music playback from Apple Watch via Bluetooth.
Other results included:
- Up to 48 hours if only checking the time (5 time checks per hour, each of 4 seconds).
- Up to 6.5 hours with continuous use of the Workout app or playing music from the watch to Bluetooth headphones.
For the best battery performance, keep both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth permanently enabled on your iPhone.
Under normal operation, regular overnight charging will not harm either the watch or battery (charging stops and resumes automatically as required).
You may also wish to use Nightstand mode. When charging your watch overnight, this enables it to be used as a beside clock with optional alarm.
