Q: Netflix and the new Apple TV 2?

I recently purchased an Apple TV 2 and downloaded the Netflix app. This has been nothing but trouble. Previously, with my 1st Gen Apple TV, I just went to Netflix, signed in once, and watched whatever I wanted.

Now, when I select Netflix, the screen goes completely black. I uninstall and reinstall the Netflix app and then it works until the next time I power on my Apple TV 2 and then the screen goes black again.

Any ideas how to fix this?

    Hi, boaster_11.

Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.

I understand that you are experiencing an issue with the Netflix application on your Apple TV.  I would start with going through the troubleshooting steps in the article below.

Get help with third-party apps on your Apple TV

    Cheers

You can't download apps on to the Apple TV 2. Which Apple TV did you actually purchase? It sounds as if you purchased the Apple TV 4.

Same question, you can't download apps to an ATV2, so which ATV did you buy.

I think boaster_11 is referring to the Apple TV gen 4 (I heard someone wrongly refer to it as Apple TV 2). I'm facing with the same problem: every time I start to play a video, I hear only the audio whereas the video is a black screen. I tried all the suggestions proposed by Apple: close the app and restart the Apple TV, check for software updates, sign out and back in to the app, delete the app and redownload it. I tried also to contact the Netflix support: they told me that Apple communicated to them that users are facing with this kind of problem and that a new Apple OS update (not Netflix app update) was expected for today (but for the moment nothing new).

Any one can confirm what Netflix support replied to me or if there is any other solution that can solve the problem?
