Q: the iphone cannot be restored at this time because the iphone software update server could not be contacted or is temporaraily unavailable
i am trying to restore my iphone 3gs. i have been unsucessful. I am getting yhis message.
"The iphone "iphone" cannot be restored at this time because the iphone software update
ser cannot be contacted or is temporarily unavailble"
I do not kow what to do next.

Did you check your security software settings, to make sure that iTunes can contact Apple servers?
Check your computer for software or settings that might cause communication issues between your computer and Apple or between your computer and your device.
If you still see the error message, check your security software.
