Jan 12, 2016 1:13 AM in response to Kappyby Fuberman,Hi Kappy.
If it's this easy to change the password on OS X, will it then mean that my Mac is not at all protected by theft!
If someone steals some of my IOS devices they can only use them as bricks, due to the protection by my Apple ID.
Really! I thought OS X where more secure and protected

Jan 12, 2016 2:26 AM in response to Fubermanby chroot,If you want more security you have the option to use a firmware password. This prevents someone else from being able to startup from a different disk such as recovery mode that can be used to reset a user account password. Warning, if you forgot a firmware password only an Apple Retail Store or Apple Authorized Service Provider will be able to remove it.

You can also encrypt your startup disk using FileVault.

Remember, more security also makes it more difficult for you to access your own information if you forget your passwords. The options for security in OS X are there, it's your choice to use them.
