Q: El Capitan, Contacts and Google Freeze

I'm having the same issue; if you add google CardDav sync in Internet Accounts within a day or two every service on the computer which uses the Address Book will freeze indefinitely.  Removing CardDav fixes this problem.  After a few days, Safari won't close or won't start because the AddressBook is frozen.  The only way to resolve this is to restart the computer using the terminal. $> sudo reboot

Having very similar issues with contacts since upgrading to El Capitan. My google contacts sync okay, but the app becomes unresponsive when I try to edit the contact. I have tried everything I know to do, nothing seems to help. If I go to contacts through the web, edit the contact, and then check that contact on the app the updates were synced fine. Just cannot edit using the Contacts app.

Same problem. No solutions out there?

I am also experiencing this problem and its persistent over updates (10.11.5)

Contacts is unuseable. As I use it for business this is catastrophic. Is there a viable alternative to this program?
