Jan 12, 2016 10:40 AM in response to dmtabladaby KGeez00,My Apple TV (ATV) 3rd Generation will not allow any of my iTunes music to steam/transmit to my TV and music system. Even though it had never given a hint of a problem before yesterday!!!!!
My 3rd Generation ATV refused to work. I tried everything, I restarted my ATV, I reset it, I reset Home Sharing, I tried different networks. The Apple Support suggested, solutions and fixes that I followed. No luck, I couldn’t connect to my iMac’s iTunes Library, but it could play YouTube, Netflix and everything else. No matter what I tried i couldn’t connect to my iMac and especially my iTunes to play over my Hi-Fi and TV.
I unplugged the ATV as an Apple support page suggested, I connected the ATV with a slim-line USB and connected it to my iMac which is all up to date, with system and iTunes. I connected the ATV to directly to my iMac and iTunes and soon after it was restored, and I replaced it to the TV connections.
After the ATV powered up, I was taken through the set-up procedure. I reset my ID and passwords and soon, YouTube, Netflix, everything was running, but it still didn’t connect to my iTunes Library.
This isn’t a mega hard device to get to work. Why does it work faultlessly one day then the next it refuses for no rhyme or reason.
Please help? I have a lot of movies I still need to watch and I’m lost without my iTunes.
