Q: Recovering fonts from old hard drive

We recently removed a hard drive from a colleagues Macbook pro as it was playing up and upgraded him to SSD. The old drive was put in a caddy to be able to access any of his old files.

We can see the old drive as an external drive but the user fonts folder is empty. Is this likely to just be a hidden folder or has it been wiped?  Holding down the option key doesn't show any hidden folders.
